This image is cool and spacious, Illustrating a place waiting for the crowds to arrive. The
figures grouped near the edges, in the shadow of the huge canvas awnings give a sense
of scale but are incidental. The geometric shapes of the chairs and the play of the stripes
on the canvas engage the eye which is led through to the distant view beyond the
cafés.
